For decades, the property was closely tied\nto the rural life of the region. One of the outbuildings housed a small shop\nselling fresh local produce, while another was, for a time, used as a school.<\/p><p>In the 1980s, the house entered a new chapter when it was acquired by\nBritish owners. Its uses and inhabitants changed, but the features that give\nit its distinctive character remained: its relationship with the landscape, the\nscale of traditional Algarve architecture and the original details that have\nendured over time.<\/p><p>Today, Benedita de Nexe brings that history into the present.
